| Description: | Assays are performed as for aldosterone synthase except for the use of 150 units of CYP11B1, 11-deoxycortisol as substrate and cortisol measured as product.Representative compounds of the present invention were tested for activity in the above assays. Preferred compounds have an IC50<1,000 nM and more preferred compounds have an IC50<100 nM in the aldosterone synthase inhibition assay. Preferred compounds have at least 100-fold selectivity for aldosterone synthase inhibition over cortisol synthase (CYP11B1) inhibition. |
