| Description: | Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) consist of lymphocytes, monocytes and dendritic cells that express TLR7, TLR8 and TLR9. These cells respond to TLR7, TLR8 and TLR9 ligand stimulation and produce cytokines and chemokines in vitro and in vivo. Human PBMCs are therefore suitable to be used in a cell-based assay to assess the in vitro potency of a TLR7, 8, and/or 9 antagonist. The result is expected to be more translatable to the pharmacodynamics response in vivo than cell line-based assays. |
