| Description: | Approximately 200 nM to 10 μM substrate, approximately 10 to 200 pM enzyme, and approximately 0.1 nM to 10 μM of the agent(s), in aqueous solution, at an approximate pH of 4-7, at approximately 37° C., for a time period of approximately 10 minutes to 3 hours. These incubation conditions are illustrative only, and can be varied as required for the particular assay components and/or desired measurement system. Optimization of the incubation conditions for the particular assay components should account for the specific alpha-secretase and/or beta-secretase enzyme used and its pH optimum, any additional enzymes and/or markers that might be used in the assay, and the like. Such optimization is routine and will not require undue experimentation. |
